UIGEA ban might be defeated after the 2009 elections
We reported in the last months how the bill to regulate Internet gambling was defeated in a voice vote in a tie of 32-32 at the HFS. We also reported about the various misinformation and lies of the Alabama Republican Representative Spencer Bachus about Internet gambling, which caused several Representatives to change their mind about the subject for the positive side.
Pressure to call in for the bill again could finally bring out some good news and a majority would be likely to be after the November elections. Frank has said that even though the Internet gambling is not a matter of importance, there is a good chance that it will finally move on into the senate for further voting.
With such statement from Frank, groups like the PPA and Republican supporters of individual liberty and other related groups are eagerly waiting to see if they will need to switch on to vote the Democrats just to be able to play at home or online.
