The world leaps forward while the gambling industry falls behind
So much changes in the past few months, both physically and virtually: new iPhone, new Internet explorer 8 from Microsoft, Firefox 3, everybody talks green environment, the oil is changing the way we live, and so on. Where does this leave the online gambling industry?
We know that players (new or old) keep coming back and gamble either online or at land based casinos. The new European laws that we have seen these past months give players a breathing space, and the opportunity to play at different countries such as: France, United Kingdom, Finland or Sweden but as well keeps them away from other countries like: Holland for example is quite new to players around the world.
So with changes in the world, we must see changes in the world of gambling too! Where does it leave the USA? We know that since the law against online gambling in the US, a lot of businesses had to close their business and look over and find new places, such as Europe. The change in location does indeed changes the way people gamble, a lot of gamblers now play online, and using the operator's software they log on and play at their favorite game.
But hey, no one really change the software did they? We still play at old software, none touched buggy code and with old graphics. The operator's site is as well very old, none Web 2.0 sites, slow and irritating graphics, same old text patterns, and confusing bonuses and promotions. Who is really into making changes in this entire industry? Why no one changes the industry into new standards using the new technologies like CSS3 and jQuery and new SEO techniques?
We know that operators spend a lot of money on big events around the world, hiring handful of beautiful girls to promote their brand and keep new players and new affiliates to come and use their service, where the most efficient service is the operator's own site, that as I just said, is very old and boring, none informative and give the player no reason to stay at and really decide wherever he should join to the service or not.
While the internet sites of each operator are "different" they all share common problems: all sites look the same, promotions are not reasonably good enough and the gambling platform is slow and old, with bad graphics and without any user interface worth mention.
Can the industry make more money from using the new technology and get new players and keep the old ones without losing them to others? Yes, and that's a big Yes! Just showing the customers that the operators' cares for them will make them keep coming for more. And that's my friend the ultimate solution.
