The anticipated HR 5767 bill declined with a vast majority

The so long awaited hearing on the bill HR 5767 (the bill that places enforcement on the UIGEA) took place yesterday in a hearing that supposed to pass the bill on to the Congress, when it finally came on to the voting, there was no mercy.

As we reported few days ago on the bill HR 5767, the bill was scheduled due to yesterday and finally took place in a hearing, involving more than 64 voters. Along them, the chairmen Barney Frank (who oppose the UIGEA) who couldn't cast his vote on the matter had to ask the voters to shout their vote all together. Barney Frank asked each party to shout their answer (either Yes or No), and the party that had the loudest sound won.

The hearing was finally finished (after voting on the King Amendement, turning 50/50 tie) with a big failure to the HR 5767 as voters opposed the bill with a vast majority. This however may seem like a big lose, but it's as well a big step, as the bill finally got a voting count on it and made it through into the voting house. During 2008 we will probably see more supporters trying to push the bill once again into the public awareness and pass it again into the voting house and hopefully gain more votes in the process.

Later on, Rep. Spencer Bachus has spoke on about online gambling and its effects on the society  and the way it effects on people and their freedom. "50 states decided to put out and ban online gambling in 2006" said  Spence, later on he spoke on the support that more than 47 universities on the UIGEA. As well, Spencer stated and referenced online gambling to be like drugs or drinks, and how we should not give expose it to teens and other minors as it affects than and making them irresponsible for their actions. He expressed his sutisfaction on how the UIGEA has reduced online gambling across the nation and helped spreading to new members.
