Online transactions might be watched by the government

Online transactions might be watched by the government

Every year, thousands of money data is being shifted from bank to bank, millions and millions of money are being transferred every month, all with the help of big companies and banks like: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American express. We, the customers are trusting our money in the hands of big companies, how safe is it going to be?

As online gamblers can't complain enough. First the UIGEA, next the banks, and now our privacy? It seems that a new Bill might be 'passed' on to the congress, referring the subject of online transactions. The bill might require companies like: eBay, Amazon, Google, and All Credit Card Companies (as stated above) to Report all transactions to the Government.

Can you imagine the thought that all of your online transactions: depositing, withdrawing, buying & selling and money transfers might be watched by the big brother? What if you use your social id as your main identifier when doing online transactions? How safe will it be for us when we know for sure that things are going transparent? This is a 'déjà vu' for Orson Wells' book futuristic "Nineteen Eighty-Four" where the all-observing government uses constant surveillance and propaganda, both insidious and blatant, to control its citizens.

Somewhere in Washington DC, a bill has been written that affects the privacy and operations of all of America's business houses. The new add-on to the Senate house legislation has been added without any debate on the manner and could affect the nation's payment systems. And will have to alter the law and make it track and report any electronic transaction information to the big brother.

As we know, just like the UIGEA's bills slipped under many noses, the same is happening here, "this provision has an astonishing reach, and it was slipped into the bill just this week" said Dick Armey, Chairman of FreedomWorks. The bill, not only to affect the major credit card companies in the world, it has a potential danger to target payment system like: Ebay's PayPal, Amazon, Google Checkout and other payment systems that works on the same idea. Just wonder what would be the implications on the market!

The congress wants to create a new system that will handle how and when private data is being used and stored using social security numbers. The bill reduces privacy at payment systems and might treat small businesses as criminals on parole that will requite them to report on everything they do to the government. This idea must be taken into account. The public and Senators must have time to examine this outrageous idea and its implications on the American business world.
